Chazmin AmBree’L Franklin

 

Prior to enrolling at Oklahoma City University for the fall of 2012, Chazmin has spent four years of high school working towards her goals to receive a college degree and career in Pharmacy. 

 

Ranked at the top 10 percent of her class, Chazmin has challenged herself academically in advanced, honor, and dual courses. In pursuit of her career, she enrolled in a Pharmacology class her senior year.

 

The three roles that have remained constant in all her positions are leader, motivator, and teacher. 

 

Chazmin’s dynamic personality, intuitive communication skills, and creativity have help lead the varsity volleyball team, as a captain for three years, to a winning season since 2006.  She is a four year letterman in volleyball and a two year letterman in Basketball.

 

She has earned honors as Matagorda County MVP, Bay City High School MVP, 1st Team All-District, Academic All State, Honorable Mention All Area, All Tournament Teams in Basketball and Volleyball, Wendy’s Heisman School Winner, USA Volleyball High Performance A3 team and garnishing honors in basketball such as 2nd Team All District, and Academic All District.

 

Chazmin was a member of numerous clubs including Health Occupation Students of America, National Honor Society; office position as Treasurer, National Technical Honor Society, Bay City Scholars, POWERSET (Powerful Opportunities for Women Eager and Ready for Science Engineering and Technology); office position as Student Advisor, and Matagorda Regional Medical Center Student Governing Board.

 

Along with her Miss Rice Festival Queen’s title, Chazmin was voted Miss Congeniality and Bay City High School Homecoming Queen.  

 

She has played club volleyball and basketball for three years.

 

Her community activities involved volunteering support for the STP Winter Festival, Holy Cross Fall Festival, baking deserts for the STP Women In Nuclear Bake Sale, Relay for Life fundraiser, being on the panel of judges for Literacy Volunteers of America “Knowledge Bowl” fundraiser.  She has assisted with providing basic instructions of basketball to younger athletes for Parks and Recreation and served as quest speaker for young students in Dezigned 2 Dance Ministry class.

 

Chazmin loves to draw, shop, travel and spend time with her brother, JeRayle.
