Dear Community Members, Vendors, and Festival Enthusiasts:
On behalf of the Rice Festival Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to join us October 14 – 17, 2010 at the 65th Annual Bay City Lions Club Rice Festival in Bay City. We will have plenty of good times and great fun for the whole family including entertainment, arts & crafts, carnival rides and PLENTY of food.
I am very excited and honored to be the Chairman for the 2010 Rice Festival. The upcoming festival will be a fun filled weekend for everyone in the family. The festival has continued to grow into one of the most popular yearly attractions for Matagorda County and this year will build it even bigger. This year, we will bring the community together to learn and strive on what has been a major part of our community for decades, rice farming. We will have an art contest, store window decorating contest, as well as the yearly Rice Dish Round-up. We will crown the new Rice Queen, have the biggest car show, parade and the most activities of any small town festival. We will tie this all together with the festival theme: “Rice, The International Ingredient”. Get ready to enjoy one festive weekend as the 65th Annual Rice Festival roles into the Matagorda County Fair Grounds. I would like to acknowledge the other committee chairmen for their hard work and for making my job easier. Being a part of the festival committee is something that takes a lot of dedication and volunteer hours and I am proud to be a part of it. Thanks to everyone involved.
